Alternative Energy in Japan
The Japanese know that they can not be subservient to supply energy, the World War II taught to them that. Like the U.S. decimated their oil supply lines and crippled their military machine. They need for creating energy of their own, and they are an island some countries have few natural resources conducive to the production of energy as it is defined now is open for foreign investment and foreign the development as well as the prospect of technological changes that may make it independent. Allowing corporations such as Vestas to get the country running on more wind-produced energy is a step in the right direction for the Japanese people.
The production of energy through what is known as microhydoelectric power plants are attractive in Japan. Japan has a myriad rivers and mountain streams, and are ideally suited place for putting up microhydroelectric power plants, which is defined by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization as power plants run by water that have a maximum output of 100 kilowatts or less. By comparison, “minihydroelectric” power plants can produce up to 1,000 kilowatts of electrical energy.
In Japan, the small-scaled mini-and micro-hydroelectric power plants are regarded for a big season as suitable for creating electricity in mountainous regions, but they came through the refinement regarded that as well for the Japanese city as well. Kawasaki City Waterworks, Japan Natural Energy Company, and Tokyo Electric Power Company have all involved in the development of small-scale hydroelectric power plant in the Japanese city.
